Please excuse my typos…
I wrote this entire post on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9″ I received as a Christmas gift.
Oh, and at 3AM none-the-less.
The last few months have been terribly stressful. I feel like so many aspects of my life have been put on the back burner, so to speak. from house work to health of myself.
for instance, I didn’t listen to my self when I wasn’t feeling well a little more than a month ago. I was caught up in college coursework, final project planning, internship responsibilities and trying to keep organized. I started feeling really bad and though it was just a bug I had caught while at the school. I’ve always heard that your first year in a school setting is always your sickest, but I didn’t really feel sick until it was too late.
While I was teaching a lesson to a sixth grade class, I noticed I was coughing badly. my throat was burning, and I felt very hot. well, I finished the lesson and the kids asked me if I was sick. over the weekend, I began to feel better. The following week, our family was hit by the bug that has been making waves in our county. even the emergency room staff was shorthanded due to a stomach bug that lasts for seven rather than the traditional fourth eight hours. B ended up getting the bug, then Little Girl, Little Boy, then myself. B ended up contracting it while he was nearly off vacation. We made it through our trip to the polar express before I felt sick enough to take a day off.
The next week, I completed my final lesson plan of the semester for my professor. I felt hot again, and my throat felt like it was on fire.
I didn’t go the following day, opting to go to our local convenient care. I haven’t had health insurance in a few years, but luckily the cost was below one hundred dollars and my prescriptions didn’t cost anything at a pharmacy that carries a free antibiotic. I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory bacterial infection. My throat was burning, and I couldn’t eat or swallow anything. my throat was tearing everyone I swallowed. the doctor informed me that I never got better from the first time I felt ill. Now, nearly a month later, I’m still not feeling one hundred percent, but I’m hoping to feel better in the next couple of weeks.
I mustered my way through and was still able to take the little ones to birthday parties they were invited to. (The picture above is from one of those parties with the little one’s older cousin.)
On another note, I’ve completed the first half of my senior year of college. Even though all the sickness, stress, and frustrations with my professors, I’ve managed to reach another milestone on my way to becoming a college graduate. For the past two years I’ve made the Dean’ s List. This fall however, I’ve experienced the honor of being added to the President’ s List. I have a 3.75 GPA and hope to graduate with honors this spring.
I will keep you all updated!!!

Congrats on making the President’s List!! Soo sorry you had to get sick during the holidays- that is no fun! I hope you feel better soon! Have a Happy New Year and good luck on your next semester in college!
