Playful Planet’s STORYLAND YOGA Review & Giveaway

There are so many different products out there that boast of ways in which they can get you kids up and help them become active. I’m sure as a mother (or father) that you have seen plenty of them. Since Little Girl had her surgery last August, many things have happened… and changed. She has been cleared for any activity in which she would like to participate in, and that include stretching and bending her legs and body in ways she was unable to during the second half of 2011. I’m very excited to introduce Playful Plant’s DVD centered around yoga for kids.

By utilizing this DVD your children can learn yoga  by imitating animals and through adventures that help the planet! There are two unique stories on the DVD which include  adventures with eco-conscious messages that engage children’s imaginations. This particular DVD has been awarded multiple times including: Creative Child Magazines Preferred Choice Award in 2010, Dr. Toy’s Best Green PRODUCT WINNER, Parents’ Choice Approved by Parents’ Choice Foundation, and Mom’s Choice Awards Honoring Excellence award.

Parents can also take part in the yoga postures along with their children, as Storyland Yoga isn’t just for kids! Yoga is good for the mind and body of each family member. Oxygen intake increases, which helps heart and lungs. Concentration and focus improves, and flexibility and mobility of your joints increases. Yoga also aids in circulation, energy-flow, digestion, and elimination. Through the use of storytelling, children are given “organic time”, a break from passive television and computers, and an insight to an ancient art form that can bring a family together!

{Review}

Little Girl really enjoyed this DVD. She has been doing many of the yoga postures even when the DVD is not on. She likes the warrior posture, especially since she has watched me do it. Even though Little Boy is a bit young (or a bit rambunctious) to keep his attention on which poses to make, he enjoys the story. This DVD is used for a quiet time activity to just relax and enjoy time together. I hope you enjoy it as well!
